When Walid Haikal returned to Lebanon in 1995 after more than two decades away, he expected to revisit the homeland of his childhood. Instead, he encountered families facing extraordinary hardship, yet meeting each day with remarkable resilience, generosity, and hope.
That experience changed his life. He made a promise that he would return, not simply as a visitor, but as someone committed to serving the people of Lebanon. Since then, he has traveled back year after year, carrying humanitarian aid made possible through the generosity of friends, churches, families, and supporters who believe compassion has the power to change lives.
We serve so that others may find salvation through our love and our actions, trusting that every meal shared and every hand extended reflects a hope greater than ourselves.

Walid Haikal immigrated from Lebanon to the United States in 1972 and has devoted more than three decades to serving the people of his homeland. Since returning to Lebanon for the first time in 1995, he has traveled back each year to personally deliver humanitarian aid throughout the Bekaa Valley. What began as one man's desire to help has grown into a lifelong mission dedicated to restoring hope, preserving dignity, and serving every person with love.
AJ Rosario serves as Chief Technology Officer for The Lebanon Project, overseeing technology strategy, website development, digital communications, cybersecurity, and online outreach. He leads efforts to expand the organization's digital presence and strengthen donor engagement around the world.
